BETWEEN LAND AND SEA – A duo exhibition by Silvana Camilleri Tabone & Audrey Mercieca.
It all started on 1st May, during a beautiful plein-air painting day in Gozo. Two artists, two different styles, but one shared love — landscapes, the sea, nature and the Maltese scenery that constantly inspires us. From that day, Between Land and Sea began to take shape. With less than three months to prepare, we challenged ourselves to create a complete collection. We will each be presenting 19 original artworks — 38 works altogether, created with passion.
Audrey will be presenting her work in her forte — oils, with their richness, colour and depth.
Myself stepped into something different for this exhibition, exploring chalk pastels and discovering a new way of expressing the atmosphere, light and emotion of the landscape.
Different mediums. Different hands. One shared horizon.
We are so excited to finally bring these two collections together in the beautiful setting of Art by the Seaside at Senglea, and to share with you the journey that began with two easels outdoors in Gozo. A heartfelt thank you to our curator, Dr Rosanna Ciliberti, for her collaboration, guidance and support in bringing Between Land and Sea together.
